“Last year, I had the opportunity to attend QCBM as a delegate and it well exceeded my expectations. This conference provides delegates with the chance to listen and speak to industry professionals, both in formal and informal settings. Being able to speak with people who have years and even decades of experience in mining was incredible for myself as someone who has no history with mining. In particular, the layout of the career fair provided me with a great opportunity to meet people from industry in a semi-formal setting, but still speak to people in a relaxed environment. What contributed to the career fair was the Friday night panel discussion. There, I got to introduce myself to many of the representatives who would be at the career fair. This gave me the basis for continuing conversations during the main event on Saturday in a more professional environment.

Ultimately, the connections I made during QCBM have made me feel more familiar with companies when I have the chance to talk to them at other events. For myself, the career fair at QCBM has been the most productive career fair that I have had the privilege of attending. Overall, I found it was a valuable opportunity for me to learn as a student and I greatly enjoyed competing at the case competition. I look forward to attending the conference again this upcoming year!”
